About Austin's Sewing Center

I am Teresa Packer, the new owner of Austin’s Sewing Center.  I am so excited to continue the Austin’s tradition of quality sewing machines and service.  I like to say that Austin’s is your One-stop sewing machine center.   Austin’s was founded by former owner Jerry Lulla over 36 years ago and has since become a well-known retail store in the Louisville area.  Centrally located in the Highlands district of Louisville, Kentucky at 2239 Taylorsville Road, just east of Bardstown Road next to Applebees with parking and entrance off Wallace Avenue, Austin’s is only minutes from any location in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

We have 4000 square feet of shopping space which includes a beautiful classroom area, large sewing machine display, a multitude of sewing and quilting notions, embroidery software, and machine accessories.  Austin’s is probably best known for our huge selection of sewing and embroidery threads including brands Robison Anton, Isacord, Sulky, YLI, Maderia, Pacesetter, American & Efird, Superior, King Tutt, Maxi Lock, Gutterman, Mettler, Metrosene ,Luny, and Aurifil.  We also carry a variety of stabilizers for machine embroidery, quilting and heirloom fabrics, heirloom laces, along with interfacings and specialty items such as hot fix crystals, beading and silk ribbon.

There are many classes scheduled at Austins and we are constantly adding to the list.  We are an educational center with focus on garment construction, quilting, embroidery, and specialty techniques such as felting, fabric painting and cold water immersion fabric dying.  Our store is fortunate to have a very talented staff of teachers with years of experience and we bring in educators such as Juanita Yeager to add variety for our customers. 

When you purchase one of our excellent Baby Lock or Pfaff machines you experience on-going support from our staff.  We offer private educational training on your new machine, group classes to stretch your creativity and help you fully utilize your machine, and we carry a complete line of accessories and soft ware for both Baby Lock and Pfaff.  We also service all brands of domestic and commercial machines on-site.
