Babylock Altair Sewing and Embroidery Machine Details

Let your creativity soar with Baby Lock's Altair Embroidery and Sewing Machine. This machine can do it all; you can embroider, quilt, craft, and more on the Altair. Integrated into the Altair is IQ Technology that will allow you to wirelessly transfer images to your machine from your phone or tablet using the IQ Intuition Positioning App. You get a 9-1/2" by 14" embroidery field, 494 built-in designs, 771 stitch options, 11-1/4" workspace, 10.1 LCD touch screen, a needle beam, and much more. LARGE WORKSPACE

Easily sew larger projects on the Altair with the 11-1/4" workspace to the right of the needle. The Altair can easily tackle quilts and large, bulky items.

9-1/2" X 14" EMBROIDERY FIELD

The Altair allows you to embroider oversized designs with less re-hooping with its large 9-1/2" by 14" embroidery field and capability to accommodate 700,000 stitches in a single hooping. Included with the machine are four hoops: 9-1/2" x 14, 9-1/2" x 9-1/2", 7" x 5", and a 4" x 4".

AUTO RESUME

Even if the power goes out in the middle of embroidering, you will be able to get right back to the exact stitch and placement where it left off without missing a beat.

NEVERMISS AUTOMATIC NEEDLE THREADER

The Baby Lock Altair features Baby Lock's NeverMiss needle threader. With all of the color changes that you'll be doing while you're creating stunning embroidery, it's a feature that you definitely need. With the touch of a button, your machine effortlessly threads your needle each and every time.

IQ DESIGNER

Creating unique embroidery is easy when you're the designer! The IQ designer feature of the Baby Lock Altair makes it easy with built-in shapes. Jump right in and soon you'll be creating one-of-a-kind designs that can match or compliment your fabric. Choose from any of the built-in background fills, to flood an area with instand stitches. Pair it with the IQ intuition on your phone, and you can seemlessly go from photo to fabric. You'll be amazed as how easy the process can be!

WIRELESS CAPABILITIES

Built into the machine are wireless capabilities. Use your favorite embroidery design software, like Palette (version 11 or higher, sold separately), to transmit your designs from your computer to the Altair wirelessly.

IQ INTUITION POSITIONING APP

Use the free IQ Intuition Positioning App to take photos of your fabrics in a special, coded hoop and transfer it wirelessly to the Altair. The image will display onscreen in crisp focus, allowing you to position your design exactly where you want it. Altair also comes with a needle beam so you can make sure your needle is positioned precisely where you want it!

10.1" LCD SCREEN

The Altair Sewing and Embroidery is equipped with a 10.1" LCD Touchscreen, that's the same size as a tablet. From this screen, you can control every aspect of your project. Choose or change stitches, embroidery designs, placements, colors, and more.

TOP LOADING BOBBIN

Bobbin changes are effortless with the quick-set drop-in bobbin. Drop your bobbin in the machine, pull your threads through the slot, and let your Altair do the rest.

DESIGN DATABASE TRANSFER

Managing your embroidery designs has never been easier! Download Design Database Transfer, a completely FREE embroidery design management tool, to easily view all of your embroidery designs and transfer the designs wirelessly to your Baby Lock Altair.

Easily transfer embroidery designs via USB or Wi-fi to the Altair. Transfer formats include .pes, .phc, .phx, and .dst. Organize your embroidery design library by creating new folders, moving and copying files to different folders, changing file names, or deleting files. Quickly search for an embroidery design by name, format, stitch count, size, etc. Review embroidery design info such as size, estimated sewing time, and number of colors.

No matter if you are sewing or quilting, you have plenty of stitch options. Choose from 771 possible stitch patterns or combine them for endless stitch combinations to save for later.

Exlusive to Babylock's best embroidery machines, the Altair allows you to sew within the embroidery field if needed. This means you can sew even when your hoop is attached!

494 EMBROIDERY PATTERNS

With 494 embroidery patterns built-in the machine, you will always have something to embroider. Almost half (200) of the designs included are exclusive Baby Lock designs that you won't find anywhere else. To make choosing the right design more manageable, the library features large thumbnails.

With Baby Lock's new Palette 11 Embroidery Software, you'll be able to create and edit embroidery designs easier than ever before. EMBROIDERY EDITING FUNCTIONS

The Altair is packed with advanced editing features for your embroidery designs. You can resize designs up 20% or down 10%, change character spacing, mirror imaging, design duplication, pattern rotation, and more. With all these editing functions, you can customize your design as much as you wish. Altair also has auto stipple, color visualizer, color sorting, design grouping, and multi-selection functions.

NEEDLE BEAM

Remove the guesswork about where the needle will drop with the needle beam on the included embroidery foot. The bright LED pointer allows you to know the exact location of where your needle will land.

COLOR VISUALIZER

Get previews of your design with the color visualizer. This program on your Altair allows you to see your patterns in an array of colors. Choose from random, vivid, gradient, or soft to see your design in different palettes. You can also select your favorite combinations so you can come back to them later.

25 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The Baby Lock Altair comes with a factory warranty, which gives you the ultimate piece of mind with your purchase. Your machine will be covered for 25 years to be free of defects in product casting due to imperfections in workmanship and materials. 10 years covers your machine from defective mechanical parts due to imperfections in workmanship and materials, excluding normally expendable parts. 2 years covers your machine from defects in the electrical equipment. 1 year covers it from defects in the electronic circuit boards, and 1 year of free warranty labor by an Authorized Baby Lock Retailer.
