Juki Haruka TL-18QVP Quilting Machine Details

Juki's Haruka TL-18QVP translates to "Beyond," and that is exactly what this machine does. It goes a little further than its cousins, the TL-2010Q and the TL-2000Qi. The TL-18QVP is still a single needle, lockstitch workhorse that is ideal for everyday sewists and quilters who need to finish projects quickly and with professional results. The aluminum casting gives this machine industrial-level strength and lowers the amount of vibration while sewing. Juki's TL-18QVP is great for quilters, as it sews easily through multiple bulky layers and heavy fabric. The extra-large sewing bed accommodates larger projects and quilts, putting less strain on your body while you sew. Although it weighs 25 pounds, it's portable and can be easily packed in a rolling carrier to take with you to quilting retreats and sewing groups.

Thread Tension Scale

This feature allows you to not only adjust your tension based on your fabric weight, but also based on the weight of your thread, creating a more balanced tension.

Adjustable LED Light

LED lighting allows you to sew or quilt for hours on end without the eye strain that's associated with traditional bulbs. This illuminates your project without putting off unsafe heat and lasts subsantially longer than traditional sewing machine bulbs. A switch in the needle area allows you to adjust the brightness of the light between high, medium, low, and off. Speed Control Dial

Float Function (Micro-Lifter)

One of the reasons the TL-18QVP is the top of the line in the TL Series is because of the Float Function (Micro-Lifter). This advanced feature is something that you normally only see on industrial machines. The Float Function will prevent uneven sewing on quilts and velvet, as well as stretched stitches on knit fabrics. The presser foot "floats" 0 to 2mm above the material, making it useful for sewing over thick seams.

Slow-Motion Switch

Each press of the needle up/down switch moves the needle halfway up or down, but if you hold the button down, you can sew a slow single stitch.
